MYK Villa is a full interior renovation of a traditional Qatari home in Doha. The existing interior was heavily classical, with ornate decorative elements, dark tones, and extensive use of gold throughout. The client wanted to move toward something lighter and more contemporary, without losing the character of the house.

The approach was to simplify rather than replace. The architectural bones of the villa, including the decorative architraves, marble flooring, and formal proportions, were retained and used as a starting point. The work focused on stripping back the excess and rebalancing the palette: warmer neutrals, softer greens, and a more restrained use of material and detail.

The result is a home that feels calmer and more liveable while remaining true to its origins. The classical language is still present, but quieter, providing structure without dominating the spaces it frames.
